Winning JIM debut for Mart IJland in 1* Small Tour Final

Twenty combinations qualified for the jump-off of the 1.25m Small Tour Final. Half of the riders kept their slate clean in the shortened course, but it was Mart IJland who finished the job in the least number of seconds.

The rider speaks highly of his equine partner, the nine-year-old mare Kandiama DMH. “She is naturally very fast; I only have to follow her lead. In fact, my goal was to remain calm and not do too much. This is my first time at Jumping Indoor Maastricht, a special competition for my employer Eric Berkhof. That makes this victory even better.”

Alicia Bocken expertly steered the six-year-old mare Delicious Diana Z to second time. Irish rider Liam Deery completed the top three with the eight-year-old mare Larossa.
