Jenny Krogsæter finished the JIM-weekend in the Marli Hommel Art Prize just like she begun: with the top honours in the 4* 1.40m class. The Norwegian rider partnered up with her nine-year-old mare, Klaartje C, with whom she has only recently formed a combination.
“Klaartje naturally seeks out the jumps herself. She doesn’t waste time in the air, which helps me save those crucial seconds. This is only our fourth show together, but we’ve already competed in 5* classes in Oslo and Helsinki with strong results in the 1.45m speed classes, securing top 5 and top 10 finishes. She’s highly competitive and loves to win. Her mentality is incredible—she jumps with her heart; all I need to do is guide her through the course. I’m very happy to be riding here at Jumping Indoor Maastricht. It’s my first time at JIM, and the arena, the audience, everything is fantastic. I wanted to end the weekend on a strong note, and I’m thrilled that I did.”
The runner-up position went to the German combination Hans-Dieter Dreher and ten-year-old mare Jiniki. Sanne Thijssen also performed a fast, faultless round with Chiara Vdh, edging out her brother Mans Thijssen, who placed fourth with the eleven-year-old Zeppelin Blue. The top five was rounded out by Irish rider Shane Breen with the ten-year-old Just Special.
Grand Prix at 3:30 PM
The show jumping arena will first be prepared for the 1* MECC Prize over 1.35m, after which the absolute highlight of the weekend will follow at 3:30 PM: the 4* 1.55m Grand Prix of Maastricht.
