On Thursday evening, November 6, 2025, the MECC Maastricht will be all about Limburg’s sporting heroes during the JIM Limburg Night, an evening filled with regional pride, top equestrian action and plenty of entertainment. Three teams — White, Blue, and Yellow, the colors of the Limburg flag — will battle it out in a friendly yet fierce competition. And of course, the ever-popular Manege Challenge will make its return!
Three Teams, One Mission
Under the leadership of well-known Limburg team captains, three teams of top dressage and show jumping riders will compete throughout the evening in a series of challenges, with every performance earning valuable points for the team ranking. The audience will be right in the middle of the action — and sometimes even get to help decide the outcome!
The teams are already confirmed:
- Team Yellow: Sanne and Mel Thijssen, led by team captain Remy Bastings
- Team White: Lars and Niels Kersten, led by team captain Jenny Schreven
- Team Blue: Leopold and Mathijs van Asten, led by team captain Jeanette Haazen
Top Show Jumpers in the Ring
During Limburg Night, spectators will enjoy thrilling rounds from 18 jumping combinations, who will compete against the clock. These combinations have been selected through the Limburg Championships and additional indoor competitions in the region. They’ll be divided across the three teams — one rider per class — and coached by the show jumpers themselves.
Afterwards, Team Thijssen, Team Kersten, and Team Van Asten will face each other once more in a fast-paced relay course, adding even more excitement to the evening!
Dressage Power from the Region
The region’s best dressage riders will also shine on this special night. The top riders from the Limburg Championships will compete in the L2, M1, and M2 classes. Three combinations per class will be selected beforehand to perform under the guidance of a dressage coach. It’s then up to the audience to show their support and decide who their favorite is!
Show and Fun at Limburg Night
Besides the sporting highlights, there’s plenty of entertainment in store. The program features a pas de deux performance by Jeanette Haazen and Remy Bastings, and the much-loved Manege Challenge makes its comeback. To close the evening in style, the Music Challenge will test the knowledge of the audience, riders, and coaches.
