Frank Schuttert knows what it's like to win at Jumping Indoor Maastricht. In 2019 he won the Grand Prix of Maastricht with Queensland E. This evening he started his weekend well with a victory in the VDL Groep Prize with his Gream (by Verdi). In a time of 31.72, he was just ahead of Harrie Smolders with Deesse de Kerglenn (by Mylord Carthago).

The stands were well filled at the MECC during the VDL Groep Prijs. The field of no fewer than 41 combinations included many international champions. 10 competitors stayed clear and were allowed to continue to the jump-off. In this, Dutch Frank Schuttert turned fastest with Gream and was allowed to line up first.

Harrie Smolders did his utmost to overtake this time and finished in second place. In third place was Belgium's Thibault Philippaerts with Jumper D'Oase (by Cardento). Mathijs van Asten from Limburg was allowed to take fifth place with Sirocco (by Balou du Rouet) after a strong clear round.
